Kinshasa, June 11th, 2018 (CPA) – African Development Bank (BAD), organized from june 4th to 9th 2018 in Abidjan, capital of Côte d’ivoire of the theme “Practical solutions to reduce plastic pollution in Africa.” To this opportunity, the interveners gave figures relating to 500 billion of plastic bags that are used every year; and nearly 1 million of plastic bottles purchased every minute. According to the interveners; half of all plastic we use is for single use, so it quickly turns into waste, that comes to pollute our rivers and sea and threatens life marhyme, clog the sanitation and drainage pipes in our cities , invade pasture areas.
One billion plastic bottles are bought every year in the world. According to experts at the round table 10% of waste in the world is plastics.
The threat of plastic waste weighs on the whole world. By 2050 assert credible sources, more than half of the fish are likely to die because of the threats of plastic waste.
