Kinshasa, April 22rd, 2018(ACP).- The World Food Program of the United Nations (WFP) and the the Organization the Nations for the Food and Agriculture (FAO) have launched recently a project of agriculture support and empowerment of women in the East of DRC in order to help them to rebuild the means of existence destroyed by the conflicts.
Financed at about 35 millions of Euros by Germany, this project aims also instauration of peace between the communities moving back to their villages after having been forced to run away because of the conflict, mentions UNO-WOMEN in a communiqué drooped at ACP on Saturday.
About agriculture, the two UN agencies would like to train little rural farmers to best practices of culture and techniques of drying, stocking of the milling of their production but also of their trading.
As for women empowerment, the project is proposing micro financing, teaching alphabetization and calculation in order to allow these ones to play well their roles in the communities.
The two UN agencies wish then reinforce the social cohesion and bring hope and perspectives within the populations who has passed over difficult situations, through courses aiming to initiate them to the use of the tools and preventing them from the conflicts. ACP/Yhm/May
