Kinshasa, April 21nd, 2021 (CPA).– The president of Y’s Men, a council of elders of the Christian association of young people and the Christian association of women (YMCA-YWCA), Gaby Katshoko sensitized its members on Tuesday in Kinshasa, during of a meeting held in the municipality of Kalamu, on the need to be vaccinated with “AstraZeneca” vaccine.
According to Ms. Katshoko, this vaccine has no drawbacks and remains the only alternative to spare the lives of members of its structure who have reached the third age (55 years or over). This vaccine is useful for vulnerable people suffering from chronic diseases and for all those exposed to a heavy flow in the course of their work. It also helps build their resistance to COVID 19 and other diseases.
The spirit of volunteerism should animate all staff committed to YMCA. It is quite normal for them to serve as models for other Congolese by being vaccinated. Thus, they will give people who are hesitant the courage to come forward for the vaccination operation”, he said.
Beyond the importance of the vaccination campaign, the president of « Y’s Men » highlighted the obligation to respect the curfew reduced from 10 pm until 4 am in Kinshasa as well as the gestures barriers. ACP/
