Kinshasa, April 21nd, 2021 (CPA).– The spokesperson for the UN stabilization mission in DRC (MONUSCO), Mathias Gilmann, announced on Wednesday, in Kinshasa, the continuation of the plea of the special representative of the General Secretary of the United Nations in, Ms. Bintou Keita, to public institutions in order to underline the commitment and the importance of the agreement of all Congolese political actors to reduce tension and community violence in eastern DRC , during the United Nations press conference.
During this conference, Mathias Gilmann underlined the importance and the role of all political actors, especially after Ms. Bintou Keita’s last visit to Beni, North Kivu, in addition to the military work necessary to overcome the national and foreign armed groups.
According to the spokesperson for the Mission, the head of MONUSCO welcomed the submission on Tuesday to the President of the National Assembly, Christophe Mboso Nkodia Puanga of the program of the government of Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, before reaffirming her support for the proposal by Congolese women leaders to create a consultation framework in relation to the activities of the UN / women.
She said she was determined to restore peace to eastern DRC.
