Isiro, June 5th, 2021(CPA).- The work of the bipartite provincial government – civil society / Forces vives de la Province consultation forum began Thursday in the Governorate under the chairmanship of the provincial governor, Christophe Baseane Nangaa. In his opening speech, the governor of Haut-Uélé paid deferential tribute to the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo for his efforts to restore peace throughout the country, before recalling to the participants the role of civil society consisting in getting involved in the integral and sustainable development of the DRC.
He denounced the abuses observed within the territorial coordination of civil society which pushes the population to acts likely to disrupt social cohesion, instead of investing, as a partner of the State, in consolidating the values of peace, unity and community development. » For the sake of materializing this cohesion, I appeal to the conscience of all the participants in this workshop to seize the opportunity offered to us in order to perpetuate the development momentum initiated under my high responsibility so that the Haut- Uélé maintains the standard of emerging or pilot provinces in the DRC, » said the provincial governor of Haut-Uélé.
