Kinshasa, July 3rd, 2021 (CPA).- Four hundred and eighteen (418) new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were recorded during the single day of Thursday in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), out of 4,841 samples tested, including 315 in Kinshasa, 48 in Kongo Central, 21 in Tshopo, 12 in North Kivu, 10 in Haut-Uélé, 9 in Lualaba and 3 in Ituri, reports the daily bulletin of the Technical Secretariat of the multisectoral committee for the response to the Covid-19 reached the CPA on Friday.
Four (4) new deaths were recorded among the confirmed cases in the Covid treatment centers (CTCo) in Kinshasa. In addition, on the same Thursday, July 1, 2021, there were nine (9) new healings in Covid treatment centers (CTCo) and among patients followed at home, including 8 in Kinshasa and 1 in Kasai Oriental.
Since the declaration of the epidemic on March 10, 2020, the cumulative number of cases is 41,771, including 41,770 laboratory-confirmed cases and 1 probable case. In total, there were 937 deaths and 28.31 people cured.
The Covid-19 test is free in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, except for travelers who will have to pay 30 US dollars, it is recalled.
Twenty-four (24) of the twenty-six (26) provinces of the DRC are affected by this epidemic. These are Kinshasa (30,360 cases), North Kivu (3,268 cases), Kongo Central (2,187 cases), Haut-Katanga (2,164 cases), Lualaba (1,036 cases), South Kivu (972 cases), Tshopo (463 cases), Ituri (422 cases), Haut-Uélé (294 cases), Ecuador (231 cases), Kasaï (82 cases), Nord-Ubangi ( 76 cases), Haut-Lomami (49 cases), Maniema (42 cases), Kasaï Oriental (35 cases), Kasaï Central (30 cases), Tanganyika (19 cases), Sud-Ubangi (11 cases ), Kwilu (10 cases), Bas-Uélé (7 cases), Kwango (5 cases), Tshuapa (3 cases), Mai-Ndombe (2 cases) and Lomami (2).
59,224 people vaccinated in the DRC with the AstraZeneca vaccine from the start of vaccination until June 30, 2021
This bulletin from the Technical Secretariat of the Multisectoral National Committee for the Response to the Covid-19 Pandemic, also indicates that fifty-nine thousand two hundred and twenty-four (59,224) people have been vaccinated in eight (8) provinces of the DRC, with the AstraZeneca vaccine, from the start of vaccination on April 19, 2021 until Wednesday, June 30, 2021.
As of Wednesday, June 30, 2021, forty-seven (47) new people received the first dose of the AstraZeneca vaccine in the city of Kinshasa.
The number of people vaccinated by province is as follows: 21,377 in Kinshasa, 9,905 in Haut-Katanga, 7,669 in Kongo Central, 5,883 in North Kivu, 4,049 in Ituri, 3,771 in Haut-Uélé, 3,399 in the South -Kivu and 3.171 in Lualaba.
