Kinshasa, July 3rd, 2021 (CPA) .- The president and founder of the NGO « Malaïka international », Dr Zaïna Kalombo said she was determined to fight against self-medication at home, during a health caravan organized Thursday in the parish of Sainte Marie de Goreti in the commune of Kalamu.
This caravan is part of the process aimed at facilitating the population to access general and specialized consultations, such as ophthalmology, oral dentistry and others, especially since some people, or even the majority of the population in Kinshasa find it difficult to seek medical advice. What pushes them to the practice of self-medication, however discouraged.
Dr Zaïna Kalombo specified that during this caravan, several diseases were detected, in particular, myopia, bad breath and tooth decay. And that requires follow-up and care.
Faced with this reality, she appealed to the government and partners to lend a hand to this initiative for the salvation of the population. ACP/NIG
