South Kivu: for the return of state authority to Minembwe

Bukavu, July 24th, 2021 (CPA).- Enoch Sebineza, a notable of Minembwe, during his intervention on a local radio station in Bukavu, estimated that only the return of the authority of the State could bring back a lasting peace in the heights and medium-plateaus of Fizi, Uvira and Mwenga.

This notable, from the Banyamulenge tribe, indicated that during several years of conflicts in this region, his community lost human lives including children and the elderly, adding to this the further loss of the destruction of livestock by armed groups

He also expressed the concern of his community which is today threatened by the coalition of several armed groups, hence his call for urgent action by the State so that calm returns and the authority of the state is restored in this region plagued by intercommunal violence since 2016. ACP/Fng/nig
