The Minister in charge of Justice enlightens the National Assembly on the security situation in the provinces under state of siege

Kinshasa, August 13th, 2021 (CPA).- The Minister in charge of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Rose Mutombo, enlightened on Wednesday, as part of the assessment of the state of siege, the members of the defense and security commission of the National Assembly on the security situation in the provinces concerned.

At the end of this working session, the chairman of this committee, the national elected said he was satisfied to hear from the government the firm will and determination to restore peace in the provinces of Nord Kivu and Ituri.

“I think that already today we have just had answers from the Minister in charge of Justice and Keeper of the Seals relating to the concerns of the honorable elected. What should be remembered is that we feel on both sides this manifest will of all Congolese, whether it be the army, national deputies and members of the government, the will to see peace be there restored in the East of the Republic. This is an important element”, said the national politician.

For him, the assessment of the state of siege by the defense and security committee of the lower house of Parliament simply aims to improve the way things are done during this period of a state of siege, in order to allow that -Here to be the real answer to the great concern of all Congolese, that of seeing peace and security be restored in the provinces of Ituri and that of Nord Kivu.

« We had discussions on several very sensitive issues which will obviously be the subject of substantive work in ad hoc committees that we have just set up today », he said, stressing that this t is therefore on the basis of what must be done within these ad hoc committees that the defense and security committee will make its report.

The national deputy reassured that his commission will land and allow the army to do its job, and all Congolese to believe in the decision taken by the President of the Republic, which will certainly be a solution for the Congolese of the ‘East of the country.
