Moïse Katumbi assists victims of the eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano

Goma, September 28th, 2021 (CPA) .- The president of the political party  » Ensemble pour la République  », Moïse Katumbi Chapwe, on Monday provided assistance to Goma victims of the last volcanic eruption of Nyiragongo, particularly those based on the Kahembe Primary School website.

Moïse Katumbi, accompanied by the executives of his party, visited the place where the lava from the volcano had stopped, at the city gate of Goma, before going to the accommodation site of the said victims, where he proceeded to the distribution of food and non-food.

“I came to Goma not only to empathize with and understand the plight of the victims, but also to join them. I carry Goma in my heart, « he said, addressing the victims, before continuing: » I spend sleepless nights thinking about the conditions in which the victims of the volcanic eruption live.

He then called on men of good will to accompany the Congolese government, by providing more aid to the victims, and pledged a plea to the Prime Minister for actions aimed at improving the living conditions of the victim population.

The eruption of the Nyiragongo volcano on May 22nd, 2021, caused loss of life and material damage in Goma, capital of the province of North Kivu.
