Kinshasa, September 29th, 2021 (CPA) .- The students of the 2nd license of the Faculty of Law, of the Protestant University in Congo (UPC) affirmed, Tuesday, their determination to defend the right of the consumer, by the creation of ‘a structure called the “Congolese Association for the Promotion and Protection of Consumer Rights” (ACPPDC).

According to the president of this new structure Freddy Basila, its creation follows the closing of the course « Consumer law » given by Professor Guy Ngoma, before specifying that this association aims to popularize the law, to denounce abuses. and infringements of consumer rights.

The CAPPDC will also conduct raids in parts of the capital, including major markets and shopping centers, in the coming days, to educate consumers about responsible behavior, he continued.

In addition, President Basila underlined that the “Congolese Association for the Promotion and Protection of Consumer Rights” currently has 250 members and operates in three (3) sectors, namely: food products, telecommunications. and electricity.
