Evaluation of COMESA cooperation agreement and OPEC leather incubator


Kinshasa, October 19th, 2021 (CPA).– The General Secretary for Regional Integration, Zacharie Tshimbonda Bilolo, visited on Friday October 15th in Kinshasa, the leather sector incubator of the Office for the Promotion of Congolese Small and Medium Enterprises (OPEC), in order to feel the results obtained thanks to the cooperation agreement with COMESA and its use to materialize the “Made in DRC” concept.

During this visit, the General Secretary received explanations from the General Director of OPEC, Mr. Ezechiel Biduaya and the Manager of the Leather Incubator, Mr. Roger Muidi, on the operation of each machine in the shoe production line.

Satisfied with what he saw and heard during his visit, Mr. Tshimbonda said he was convinced that COMESA assistance to the Democratic Republic of Congo through OPEC has produced palpable fruits that must be realized perpetuate over time, before encouraging the leaders of OPEC to keep the same momentum for the development of small and medium-sized Congolese enterprises, and particularly those in the leather sector.
