Lowland gorilla dies at the age of 35 in Kahuzi-Biega Park


Kinshasa, October 19th, 2021 (CPA).– Kahuzi-Biega national park in Sud Kivu province located in the east of DRC recorded last weekend the death of the male gorilla named « Mugaruka » in the age 35, indicates a statement from the Congolese Institute for the Conservation of Nature (ICCN) reached CPA on Monday.

According to the source, Mugaruka is a gorilla who has remained lonely because he had a hand cut off in his youth, due to a trap by the poachers.

Mugaruka was unable to start a family due to his known disability.
