Kinshasa, October 22nd, 2021 (CPA).– The impassability of agricultural service roads is cited among the difficulties encountered by the rural world, especially rural women, said on Thursday, the vegetable production manager at the national service urban and peri-urban horticulture (SENAHUP), Brigitte Mpambu Mutoto during an interview with CPA.
The vegetable production manager made this known on the sidelines of the International Day of Rural Women, indicating that market gardeners who are in rural and peri-urban areas produce but experience difficulties in evacuating their production because of the impassability of agricultural feeder roads.
For this year, she said that the chosen theme is: « Empowerment of rural women and girls: challenges and resilience to climate change and covid-19 ».
Ms. Brigitte Mpambu Mutoto SENAHUP stressed that if this day is celebrated in favor of rural women, the latter are rejected, abandoned and experience many difficulties, including those related to supervision. SENAHUP, she recalled, is a service within the general secretariat of the Ministry of Rural Development.
