Kinshasa: at least 50 houses set on fire in the « Pakadjuma » district


Kinshasa, October 25th, 2021 (CPA), – A fire broke out overnight from Saturday to Sunday in the « Pakadjuma » district, in the municipality of Limete. According to several sources interviewed by the CPA, a woman left a lighted candle in her house. What finally ignited a good part of this district. For the police who arrived on Sunday morning as part of the first investigations, about fifty of the boxes went up in smoke over a distance of 100 m. Victims of this fire, found on the spot say they have lost everything, said the police. When asked, a victim explains: “I won 6 million Congolese francs (USD 3,000) after playing the game of Paris Foot. I have 3 million ($ 1,500) left. Now my son has neither a coat nor a notebook. I do not know what to do « . Another victim commonly known as « Dorcas » and recognized as a mango vendor, called for the intervention of the country’s authorities to support the survivors. ACP/
