Kinshasa, October 28th, 2021 (CPA).– The Minister in charge of Transport, Communication routes and Opening up, Cherubin Okende Senga, announced on Tuesday October 26th, the endowment of a new aircraft of the type « Ambraer », to the national airline company Congo Airways.
Cherubin Okende announced this during a working session he chaired with Congo Airways officials and Brazilian experts, the Transport Ministry learned on Thursday.
This aircraft, indicated the Minister in charge of Transport, is acquired on the government’s own funds, as part of a cooperation contract between Congo Airways compant and the Brazilian firm Embraer signed in December 2020, in order to materialize the promise of President of the Republic, Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, made to the Congolese population, that of doing everything to open up the airspace of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). This aircraft will carry out a test flight on November 4th, before its delivery which is expected in Kinshasa in the coming days.
According to the source, the Minister in charge of Transport, Communication routes and Opening up, Cherubin Okende Senga, first welcomed the personal involvement of the Head of State in the outcome of this file and then, he made the commitment to take all necessary measures to ensure that the delivery of this aircraft is carried out in complete peace of mind.
