Governor Gentiny Ngobila assesses the progress of road rehabilitation projects in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, November 1st, 2021 (CPA) .- The governor of the city of Kinshasa, Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka on Saturday carried out a round of the rehabilitation and modernization of the arteries of the capital, in the company of members of the provincial government of Kinshasa and mayors of the municipalities concerned. Governor Gentiny Ngobila began his tour with the Funa district, where he visited the works on Makanza Avenue, in Ngiri-Ngiri commune, from its intersection with Elengesa avenue to its intersection with Avenue de Liberation, in the town of Bandalungwa.

Based on the explanations of his technical advisor, this project is being carried out within the framework of the “Tshilejelu” program launched by the President of the Republic, Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, including the rehabilitation of 40 km of roads. Makanza Avenue is a road of capital importance in the sense that it constitutes a direct link between the towns of Kalamu and Bandalungwa.

Then the urban authority and its delegation went to Assossa and Ngiri-Ngiri avenues, to also see the progress of the work. Avenue Assossa, which runs from the Kimpwanza roundabout to Bumbu commune, is only paved until it intersects with Ngiri Ngiri avenue, in the commune of the same name. With the work in progress, the paving of Avenue Assossa will extend to its intersection with Avenue Landu, in the municipality of Bumbu. At the end of this observation, Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka formulated some recommendations for the acceleration of the aforementioned worksites which contribute to the vision of rehabilitation of the secondary roads, in order to clear the capital and reduce traffic jams.
