The acting burgomaster of Matete recalls the measure prohibiting the sale of sachet water in his jurisdiction

Kinshasa, November 22nd, 2021 (CPA).- The acting burgomaster of the municipality of Matete, Raphaël Kasongo carried out a round on Saturday in some markets of his jurisdiction, during which he reminded traders of the measure of the Town Hall of Kinshasa, prohibiting the production and marketing of bagged water in the city of Kinshasa. He indicated that the water in sachets pollutes the environment and is the basis of several flood damage as it prevents water from running off and entering the ground, pointing out that plastic pollution is the main cause of the insalubrity in Kinshasa. The municipal authority, which was accompanied by the municipal sanitation brigade and police officers, recommended the latter to be more active, warning that any seller or producer of sachet water who will be surprised throughout the commune will be subjected to the rigor of the law.
