Kinshasa, November 22nd, 2021 (CPA) -The chief of staff of the Minister of Industry, Jean Dieudonné Kavese indicated on Saturday on the occasion of the international day of industry, that the Congolese government reiterated its commitment to consolidate the promotion of the industrial sector in the DRC, the Ministry of Industry told the CPA on Sunday Mr. Jean Dieudonné Kavese who made this statement on the sidelines of the celebration of this day, indicated that a delegation from the Congolese Ministry of Industry paid a visit to the facilities of the company MINO CONGO specializing in the production of flour and semolina working with more than 3,000 employees based in the city-province of Kinshasa. The chief of staff, Jean Dieudonné Kavase, praised the work done by MINO CONGO in the processing of certain agricultural products in the DRC. The Minister of Industry’s envoy took the opportunity to reiterate the Congolese government’s firm commitment to consolidate the promotion of the industrial sector, which is in line with the vision of the Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. He noted that the DRC-Africa Business Forum on the development of a value chain of batteries and electric vehicles, the work of which will be held from November 24 to 25 in Kinshasa, augurs the development of the DRC and the African continent. He recalled that “the DRC is the best destination in the world for the battery and electric vehicle industry. International Industry Day was celebrated on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at the national level under the theme: « Industrial diversification for the integral development of a country ». “We send encouragement and congratulations to the authorities at this factory; We continue to maintain the operation of this factory where there is job creation. We have seen Congolese who are running this factory and it is a source of pride for us, « he said. For his part, Thomas Maketa, UNIDO representative in DRC thanked the Minister of Industry for his efforts to promote local industries. “A lot of people think industry is big cars, planes, mines, and industry is in everything. We thank the Minister of Industry who had the idea to celebrate this day with Congolese industries, ”he said. In the delegation led by Jean Dieudonné Kavase, we noted the presence of experts from this ministry and the representative in the DRC of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Thomas Maketa and the Secretary General for ‘Industry, Bernadette Nzamba.
