20 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 recorded on Thursday in DRC


Kinshasa, November 29th, 2021 (CPA) – 20 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 were recorded on Saturday in DRC, out of 2,369 samples tested, including 10 cases in Kinshasa, 3 in Kasai Oriental, 3 cases in Sud-Ubangi, 2 in Nord Kivu and 2 in Sud Kivu, reports the daily bulletin of the technical secretariat of the multisectoral committee for the response to Covid-19, which reached CPA on Sunday.

Data on new deaths of confirmed cases and new recoveries in Covid treatment centers (CTC) and among patients followed at home are not available.

Since the declaration of the epidemic on March 10th, 2020, the cumulative number of cases is 58,297, including 58,295 laboratory-confirmed cases and 2 probable cases. In total, there were 1,107 deaths and 51,457 people cured.

The Covid-19 test is free in the Democratic Republic of Congo, except for travelers who will have to pay 30 US dollars, it is recalled.

All twenty-six provinces of DRC are now affected by this epidemic. These are the provinces of Kinshasa (34,340 cases), Nord Kivu (6,243 cases), Haut-Katanga (4,307 cases), Kongo Central (3,201 cases), Sud Kivu (2,824 cases), Lualaba (2,780 cases), Ituri (1,128 cases), Tshopo (958 cases), Haut-Uele (622 cases), Equateur (388 cases), Kasaï Central (358 cases), Kasaï (212 cases), Kasai Oriental (209 cases), Nord-Ubangi (122 cases), Sud-Ubangi (120 cases), Lomami (111 cases), Maniema (103 cases), Bas-Uele ( 94 cases), Haut-Lomami (57 cases), Kwilu (37 cases), Tanganyika (23 cases), Kwango (17 cases), Mongala (13 cases), Tshuapa (13 cases), Sankuru (4 cases) and Mai-Ndombe (2 cases).
