President Félix Tshisekedi insists on the independence and impartiality of the INEC

Kinshasa, December 10th, 2021 (CPA).– The President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, insisted on Thursday on the independence and impartiality of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), during the audience granted to the new office of the INEC, led by its president, Dénis Kadima. « As the guarantor of the proper functioning of the institutions, the President of the Republic insisted on the independence of the electoral center, impartiality and professionalism, because the country must regain its place in the concert of nations through the elections.», Declared the president of the INEC, at the end of the meeting with the Head of State. Dénis Kadima then affirmed that these exchanges with the supreme authority of the country are part of their mission to meet national stakeholders, as well as international partners. The President of the Republic being himself an institution, it was therefore necessary to meet him, said the President of the INEC, adding that they will now meet all the other institutions and stakeholders in the electoral process, for discussions. For him, the electoral center intends to organize free elections, in terms of quality and promptness within the constitutional deadline. The train is already moving, he concluded.
