Bukavu, December 13th, 2021 (CPA) .- The implementation of the decree fixing the school fees to be paid for the 2021-2022 school year poses a problem in the schools of South Kivu because the majority of schools do not organize assemblies general terms of the parents to fix by mutual agreement the fees to be paid according to the recommendations of the provincial minister of EPST, learns the CPA. Instead of general meetings, parents receive statements from school administrators who unilaterally set these fees.
One of these parents, Samy Cokola from Kabare territory, believes there is an urgent need to bring order by fixing school fees in schools and punishing violators of this provision. He asked the minister in charge to demand the minutes of the General Assemblies fixing the school fees in the schools.
In this regard, the decree made public on November 16 by the governor of South Kivu, had set the school fees in secondary and nursery schools ranging from 3 to 90 US dollars per student and per term based on the realities of each school. ACP
