Kinshasa, December 27th, 2021 (CPA).- The President of the National Assembly, Christophe Mboso, congratulated the national deputies for the activities carried out during the September session by the lower house of Parliament, in a closing speech on Friday, at the People’s Palace. Christophe Mboso welcomed the examination and adoption, by national deputies, of the Finance law for the financial year 2022.
In this budget, he noted the consideration of the concerns of Congolese state officials, the country’s security imperatives and the revival of infrastructure. This budget, noted the speaker of the National Assembly, is constantly evolving underlining the interest, for national deputies, to improve the social status of the Congolese while ensuring the revival of the economy of the DRC.
For the President of the National Assembly, it is for the first time in the DRC that Parliament is seized, at the same time, of 3 finance bills, namely, the law relating to the rendering of the accounts of the Status for 2020, the amending budget bill for fiscal year 2021 and the Finance bill for fiscal year 2022. These three bills, he added, have been forwarded for promulgation to the President of the DRC.
Christophe Mboso congratulated the national deputies who are members of the Parliamentary Economic-Financial Committee (Ecofin) for the work done in the context of these three bills before inviting them to exercise their power of control over the government, during the session of March 2022.
The speaker of the lower house of Parliament cited, among the achievements by his chamber during this September session, the adoption of bills authorizing the extension of the state of siege, the bill authorizing the government, the bill on the rights of people living with disabilities, the bill on the promotion of the rights of indigenous peoples and the INEC activity report. He also reported on the organization of the congress where the President of the Republic Félix Tshisekedi delivered his speech on the state of the nation. ACP/
