Kananga: Head of State announces for February 2022 the organization of elections for governors in 14 provinces

Kananga, January 2rd, 2022 (CPA).- The elections of 14 provincial governors will take place in February 2022, said the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, during his address, in Tshiluba, to the population from Kananga, Kasai Central province, last Friday, to the Place de l’Indépendance. The Head of State urged the population to take full responsibility on this occasion, as primary sovereign, believing that the choice of a candidate governor, in the provinces concerned (14), is the responsibility of the people and not of a President of the Republic. President Félix Antoine Tshisekedi welcomed the wishes expressed by the women, during the exchanges, to see the governorate of Kasaï Central be entrusted to a woman, stressing that the realization of this wish is possible, provided that the women themselves are ‘assume as it should.

Special message for young people

The Head of State also located his stay in Kananga within the framework of the evaluation of the execution of the works of the “Tshilejelu Project”, but also those of the construction of the hydroelectric dam of Katende, while indicating that the fight against youth unemployment in this province requires the availability of an energy source capable of attracting investments likely to create jobs. The President of the Republic, in his meeting, reassured the population on the availability of work for everyone, through the Development Program of the 145 territories. A program that will, according to him, end the poverty of young girls and boys in the DRC. “What we are going to do to end poverty, especially for you young people, we have the development agenda of the whole country through the grassroots. It is this development program that will give you jobs, get ready, as soon as we start this program, we will need a lot of people, ”he said.

Félix Antoine Tshisekedi, speaking briefly of the main lines of his government’s action program for fiscal year 2022, cited in particular the construction of schools, health centers as part of universal health, but also roads. He particularly highlighted, concerning the roads of Kasai Central, the Kananga-Kalamba Mbuji road, called to open up the center of the country to connect it to the ocean, via Angola. In addition, the Head of State presented his wishes for a Happy New Year 2022 to the population of Kasai Central, a year, according to him, bringing solutions to the latter’s expectations, before his wife, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi thanked him. the people and wish them their best wishes for happiness, prosperity and longevity. Kasaï Central is the 3rd stage of the President of the Republic’s tour in the Grand Kasaï area, which he started a week ago in Mbuji-Mayi in Kasaï Oriental via the province of Lomami. .

On his arrival from Mbuji-Mayi, the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, accompanied by the First Lady, Denise Nyakaru Tshisekedi, was greeted by a crowd posted along Boulevard Lumumba, from the airport to the Independence Square, fitted out for the meeting.
