Kinshasa, January 17th, 2022 (CPA) – The President of the Republic, Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, thanked the Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU), for their commitment and their contribution to the success of his mandate during his mandate, to provide appropriate responses to the many challenges facing the continent, during its.

The Head of State, who indicated this during the last meeting of the bureau of the Conference of Heads of State and Government of the African Union, which he chaired on Saturday, by videoconference, in his office of work of the city of the African Union, in his capacity as Chairman of this continental organization, particularly thanked the members of the office for appropriate responses to the many challenges facing the continent.

Three items were on the agenda of this Conference, namely the report on the evolution of the political, peace and security situation on the continent, the response reserved for the situation of the COVID 19 pandemic and , finally, preparations for AU statutory and partnership meetings.

These include the case of COVID 19, measures to revive African economies, issues related to peace and security as well as those relating to the main theme of his mandate, in this case, « Arts and culture , a lever for building the Africa we want”.

The passage of President Felix Tshisekedi at the head of the African Union was, it is believed, an enriching experience where he and the members of his office spared no effort to provide appropriate solutions to the problems posed.

The President of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Felix Tshisekedi, who became Chairman-in-Office of the African Union on February 6th, 2021, will hand over the baton at the beginning of February to his successor, Senegalese President Macky Sall.
