Launching soon in Mbanza-Ngungu construction work on the “Institute for training in primary education professions”

Kinshasa, February 7th, 2022 (CPA).-. – The Minister of Primary, Secondary and Technical Education (EPST), Pr Tony Mwaba Kazadi will, this week, in Mbanza Ngungu, in the province of Kongo Central, launch the construction works of the « Institute for training in primary education professions » (IFME), as part of the « Molakisi Telema » Project (Teacher stand up), learned last Saturday, the CPA from a source close to this ministry.

According to the source, the IFME, a project that is part of the Education and Training Sector Strategy (SSEF) 2016-2025, will be built within the Kola school complex, in the aforementioned city, with a capacity of 360 places including an amphitheater, equipped classrooms and a computer room. A library and laboratories, sports equipment, an infirmary, a block of administrative offices, means of transport, a canteen, toilets and a boarding school for young women are added to the infrastructure of this Institute.

From the “Molakisi Telema”

Project The « Molakisi Telema » project, financed by the French Development Agency (AFD), to the tune of 10 million euros over the period 2022-2026, aims to support the government in defining and testing the methods of implementation of the reform of initial training, through the pilot model of the Institute for Training in Teaching Professions (IFME), devoted to the initial training of primary school teachers, specifies the source.

Its specific objectives include support for the preparation of the reform of initial training on the pedagogical, organizational and economic aspects as well as support for the implementation of the reform at the provincial level.

The operation of the IFME will be gradually taken over by the State, which will ensure, from the outset, the payment of the salaries of managers and trainers. Communication, animation and reinforcement activities will also be organized in order to position the IFME as a resource and support center for teachers at the start but also throughout their career. This project will have the visible impact of improving the quality of teacher training and therefore that of the teaching-learning process. The « Molakisi Telema » project is part of the vision of the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, by contributing to the strengthening of the professionalization of teachers, targets of his program of free primary education.
