The wishes of the students presented to Prime Minister Sama Lukonde

Kinshasa, February 7th, 2022 (CPA).- A delegation of student representatives from Congo (REC) presented the student wishes to the Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde Kyenge, during an audience he granted him Saturday, at the Primature. « We came to meet the Prime Minister to present to him our desires linked in particular to the improvement of student life and more particularly of the strike observed in all the public establishments of the country », entrusted to the press, at the end of the audience, the national president of Congolese students, Sylvain Katombe. The delegation also requested the involvement of the Head of Government in the management of the Trabs Académia buses, recently made available to students by the President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo. “We made him see that students want academic activities to be able to resume at our respective universities.

We have also asked the Prime Minister to become personally involved in the management of the Trans Académia buses so that the students can also be the managers,” continued Sylvain Katombe. The representatives of the student community finally dwelt on the question of scholarships, before welcoming the attention that the Prime Minister gave to their problems during these exchanges. Finally, they called on the students to calm down and to be patient while waiting for the resolutions of the talks between the government and the teachers’ unions. CPA/
