Kinshasa, April 15th, 2022 (CPA).-The President of the Republic, Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo had talks, Friday, at the City of the African Union, with the special envoy of the Secretary General of the United Nations for the Great Lakes region, Huang Xia, on issues relating to the negative forces of the M 23, in the eastern part of the country.
The senior United Nations official told the press, after the hearing, that he discussed with the Head of State on the M23 file, as part of his next communication to the United Nations Security Council. United, on April 27th in New York.
He also indicated that the Head of State presented to him his analysis of this situation, as well as the conclusions and decisions taken during the last mini-summit in Nairobi, Kenya. Huang Xia said that he had received « very clear and high quality » analysis and advice from President Tshisekedi, which will enable him to back up and support his communication in New York.
For her part, the Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in the DRC and Head of MONUSCO, Bintou Keita, who accompanied her, indicated that she took this opportunity to present Huang Xia to the Head of State Huang Xia, the new Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary General of the United Nations in the DRC, Resident Coordinator and Humanitarian Coordinator of the United Nations system, Bruno Lemarquis, as well as the Chief of Staff at MONUSCO, Nathalie Dongossé.
