Kinshasa, May 6th, 2022 (CPA).- Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde received on Friday, in his office, a delegation from the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) led by the Minister of Regional Integration and of the Francophonie, Didier Mazenga Mukanzu.

According to the Minister, this delegation, headed by Administrator Geoffroi Montpetit, came not only to present its civilities to the Prime Minister, but also to renew the support and accompaniment of the OIF in the organization of the 9th Games of La Francophonie. that the DRC will have to house in 2023.

A commitment materialized by the signing, Thursday, May 5th, 2022, of the amendment to the specifications for the organization of these games in the DRC. The DRC will indeed host the games In the presence of the director of the national committee of the Francophonie games, Isidore Kawandja, the Minister of Regional Integration informed the press that the DRC will indeed host the 9th Francophonie games.

« The OIF delegation arrived to first assess the progress of the work. The administrator also arrived because we should sign the amendment concerning the change of dates and the modified budget.

This was done yesterday,” he explained, adding that the Prime Minister reassured them that he will follow this file at every stage, said Minister Mazenga. For his part, the Administrator of the OIF fixed the national opinion, as to the support of his organization for the success of these games.

« We have come here to continue to work in partnership with the government of the DRC and with the national committee of the Francophonie games, which the OIF is ready to support, » said Geoffroi Montpetit, stressing that they have deployed a series of visits this week alongside a large delegation of experts.

The government of the Republic has put all the batteries in motion for the total success of these 9th Games of La Francophonie which will be held from July 28 to August 06, 2023 in Kinshasa, it is reported.
