President Félix Tshisekedi participates in the COP 15 Heads of State summit

Kinshasa, May 09th, 2022 (CPA).- The Head of State, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, who has been staying in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire since Sunday, is participating this Monday in the Ivorian economic capital, in the Summit of Heads of Status of the 15th United Nations Conference (COP 15) on the fight against desertification and drought. The DRC as a solution country in the fight against climate change and the preservation of biodiversity at the global level is involved in the development of the African strategy to counter desertification and land degradation. During this Abidjan Summit, President Tshisekedi will deliver a solemn address to reaffirm the DRC’s commitment to work to preserve the environment and biodiversity, common heritage of humanity. The First Lady, Ms. Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, who accompanies the Head of State, is invited to the Gender Caucus of COP15. This caucus will discuss emerging issues and policy recommendations from the study on the differentiated impacts of desertification, land degradation and drought on women and men.
