A delegation from the NGO “International Youth Fellowship” received by Rose Mutombo


Kinshasa, June 9th, 2022 (CPA).– The Minister of State, Minister in charge of Justice and Keeper of the Seals, Rose Mutombo, met on Wednesday in her office with a delegation from the South Korean NGO International Youth Fellowship , led by Dr. Kim Kisung, President of the « World Forum of Directors of Prison Administration » planning to build a rehabilitation center for prisoners. This organization, which has established a similar partnership with some forty countries around the world, also intends to extend its collaboration to the Congolese Ministry of Justice. “For a long time, our NGO has been training prison inmates. We have also created schools of Theology within prisons and we wish to do the same in the DRC », declared Dr Kim Kisung at the end of the hearing, before underlining their dream of being able to « change and transform prisoners as agents for the development of society. He then indicated that his team will discuss, with the Minister of Justice, around the construction of a social reintegration center for prisoners and their accommodation, without forgetting trade schools, adding that these will be open to all young people and, in the near future, to the whole population. It is in this context, he said, that the International NGO Youth Fellowship is asking the Congolese State for land to build, with its own funds, this center for the reintegration of prisoners. Dr. Kim Kisung is an Honorary Doctor of Education and Chief Mindset Change Education Officer at the International Youth Fellowship headquarters. He is also the Director of Youth Corrections and Detention Centers Keynote speaker at the 2nd Forum on Policing and Corrections; he is the founder of theological schools in 350 prisons in 40 countries around the world.
