Minister Bunkulu and the EU discuss resolutions from the 1st edition of the Intergenerational Dialogue

Kinshasa, June 11th, 2022 (CPA)  The Minister of Youth, initiation to new citizenship and national cohesion, Yves Bunkulu Zola, exchanged Thursday with the Ambassador of the European Union (EU) in the DRC, Jean- Marc Chataigner and the Director of Programs of Cordaid in order to have an overview of the positive resolutions of the 1st edition of the Intergenerational Dialogue. According to Minister Yves Bunkulu, the recommendations made at this edition have been transformed into a decision at government level. « 80% of these resolutions are taken into account by the Congolese government, particularly on the issue of democracy, good governance, the fight against corruption, the issue of improving services in public administration », a- he confirmed. In addition, Minister Yves Bunkulu clarified that the question of the representativeness of young people at government level, the law on the promotion of youth are all innovations brought by this first edition of the Intergenerational Dialogue. As for the question relating to citizenship, he indicated that he has developed a guide on the education of the new citizenship which will be a course to be introduced into the school and academic programs of the country. The Minister of Youth reassured with regard to the issue of peace and security, that his services have already set to work to ensure the success of the National Program for the demobilization of young people recruited into armed groups, from resolution 2250 of the United Nations Security Council. For his part, the head of the European Union delegation in the DRC, Ambassador Jean-Marc Châtaignier promised to support the Minister of Youth in the implementation of his action plan.
