The young girls of Matete made aware of the use contraceptive methods


Kinshasa, June 28th, 2022 (CPA).– « Congo Mon Affair » NGO, in partnership with « Thank you my hero » and the technical support of the National Adolescent Health Program (PNSA) organized a day of sensitization with young girls and girl mothers in Matete municipality, on the use of “contraceptive methods”.

The president of the NGO « Congo my business », Abigael Kisalu, for her part presented her structure working in the social field, before showing the importance of the day’s activity, that of helping adolescent girls to acquire knowledge about the use of contraceptive methods, with a view to having responsible sexuality and reproduction. She said that this day was also part of the objectives pursued by their structure.

For her part, the communication officer of PNSA, Pierrette Tsimba explained to the participants the use of the different contraceptive methods, including the necklace method, the contraceptive pill and the condom. She added that the use of contraceptive methods protects women, particularly adolescent girls, from the risks that pregnancies can represent for their health.

The important thing is to avoid unwanted pregnancies as well as to space births, said Ms. Tsimba. To this end, she pointed out that at the end of this activity, these participants registered for free support on sexual and reproductive health at the various hospitals indicated in the municipality of Matete, each benefiting from an envelope of 20 US dollars.
