More than 5 km of CECOMAF road rehabilitation works already executed in Kinshasa

Kinshasa, July 22nd, 2022 (CPA).– The civil engineering company modern construction company has already asphalted more than 5 km out of 15 km of CECOMAF road planned as part of the infrastructure rehabilitation project in Kinshasa city, said Mr. Richard Itshieki, inspector in this company.

Started on January 29th of the current year, these works which are part of Tshilejelu project initiated by the President of the Republic Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, continue with the construction of sanitation works, along this agricultural service road linking Kinshasa city through district 1 in N’djili municipality to Kongo central province from Kasangulu.

Said works for the construction of sanitation works, said the inspector, are confronted with the construction of houses on the right-of-way of the road, cables of the National Electricity Company (SNEL) and the piping of the distribution of drinking water (REGIDESO) that cross or are along the road.

The modern construction company has, for this purpose, opted for the partial construction of the sanitation works, jumping the obstacles with the sole objective of rehabilitating this road over its entire length of 15 km. The government’s vision is to ensure trade between Kinshasa city and Kongo Central province, particularly in agricultural and manufactured products.

As a reminder, Modern construction company is responsible for the project management under the supervision of the design office of the Roads and Drainage Office (OVD), which is the delegated contracting authority.
