CAF: 54 clubs at the starting line for the conquest of the trophy held by WAC of Morocco

Kinshasa, August 8th, 2022 (CPA) – 54 clubs from the continent will be at the start line of the preliminary round of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League, indicates the official website of this body reminder of the list of names of the clubs involved.

These 54 clubs come from 44 countries on the continent including South Africa, Egypt, Guinea, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria, DRC, Sudan, Tanzania and Tunisia will field two teams each.

Unlike other countries, Morocco is the only one whose 2 ambassadors are exempt from the preliminary round.

CAF: The 4 representatives of DRC at the interclubs will know their opponents this Tuesday

The 4 representatives of DRC in particular, TP Mazembe, AS V.Club, FC Saint Lupopo and DC Motema Pembe in 2022-2023 interclub competitions of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) will meet their respective opponents on Tuesday, during the draw in Cairo, Egypt, of the preliminary rounds of the said competitions.

This lottery exercise, notes the source, marks the start of 2022-2023 campaign of the two interclub competitions, namely: CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

In C1, the various competitors will go to conquer the title won last season by Wydad Athletic Club (WAC) of Morocco and in C2, all will covet the trophy held by RS Berkane, another Cherifian club.

Dates of the preliminary rounds: 2nd round (there and back): September 9th to 11th / September 16th to 18th, 2022; 2nd round (there and back): October 7th to 9th / October 14th to 16th, 2022.
