Exchange between the Minister of Industry and the Ambassador from the DRC to the USA on the benefits of AGOA


Kinshasa, August 17th, 2022 (CPA). – The Minister in charge of Industry, Julien Paluku Kahongya, exchanged on Monday with the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to the United States of America, Mrs. Marie Hélène Mathey Boo on the need to consolidate strategies to enable the DRC to benefit from the advantages of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), an American law on development and African opportunities, the CPA of the said ministry learned on Tuesday.

The Congolese diplomat welcomed the policy based on the promotion of the local processing of mining and natural resources issued by Minister Julien Paluku Kahongya, before pleading for the involvement of the private sector in this process in order to help the DRC to take advantage of AGOA.

In addition, the Minister of Industry Julien Paluku Kahongya, was invited to go in the next few days to the United States of America to present the potentialities of which the DRC abounds with its policy of special economic zones and its integration project. of the battery and electric vehicle industry.
