The exploration collaboration avenues in the mining sector in DRC mentioned by the Ministry in charge of Mines

Kinshasa, August 25th, 2022(CPA).- Exploring collaboration avenues in the mining sector in Democratic Republic of Congo was on Wednesday at the centre of discussions between the Deputy Minister in charge of Mines, Godard Motemona and a Nigerian delegation from Innoson Group led by Innocent Chukwuma NPOM accompanied by the Governor of Kinshasa city Gentiny Ngobila, learned on Thursday CPA of this ministry.

According to the same source, this delegation came to DRC to explore collaboration avenues to enable it to invest in certain areas of the country’s business, in particular the mining sector.

The hosts of the Ministry in charge of Mines are mainly interested in the cobalt and lithium exploitation, ores which are used in batteries manufacture and electric vehicles, specifies the same source.

During these exchanges described as fruitful, the Deputy Minister in charge of Mines, Godard Motemona praised the leadership of President Felix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo who supports this sector’s cleaning up so that any partnership is done in a win-win spirit, before to reassure his hosts of his support for the successful outcome of these projects.

The Deputy Minister in charge of Mines asked the head of the delegation to officially send an intent letter to allow the ministry to meet their concerns in strict compliance with the Mining Code and Regulations.
