Kinshasa, August 30th, 2022 (CPA) – Prime Minister Sama Lukonde Kyenge met, last Saturday in Tunis, on the sidelines of Tokyo International Conference for African Development (TICAD 8), the Congolese student community of Tunisia, CPA learned from the international media on Monday. The Prime Minister spoke with these students during the visit to the building of the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of Congo in Tunis. Led into the consular building by DRC ambassador in Tunisia, Mrs. Lukusa, the head of government received in passing the memorandum from the community of these young Congolese students in this country, through which they informed him of the lived realities. The Ambassador took this opportunity to thank Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde for being the very first Congolese Head of Government to have visited him after his 33 years of service in Tunisia.
Discussion with the Executive Vice President of Mitsubishi Group
In addition, Sama Lukonde subsequently discussed with the executive vice-president of Mitsubishi group, Yasutera Hirai, on the possibility of investments by this Japanese group in DRC. These include various activities of this Group in the electrical energy and infrastructure development sectors. “I am the representative of Mitsubishi Corporation. We were able to meet the Congolese Prime Minister within the framework of TICAD 8. Us and other Japanese companies, which take part in this conference, hope to be able to further develop our activities in DRC”, he announced to the outcome of their interview. Yasutera Hirai said that the outcome of this project will create jobs for the Congolese and improve their living conditions. Mitsubishi Corporation develops activities in other sectors, apart from the automobile sector which certainly makes it famous. The Group is also present in the electrical energy, social and infrastructure development sectors.
