New York, September 21nd, 2022 (CPA) – The situation of victims of sexual violence in DRC was, on Tuesday, at the center of discussions between the First Lady of DRC, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, and the United Nations Special Representative on sexual violence in conflicts, Pramila Patten, indicates a press release from her Foundation which reached CPA on Wednesday.
According to this press release, Pramila Patten welcomed the commitment of the wife of the Congolese Head of State in the fight against sexual violence linked to conflicts, which is reflected in particular by the creation of a « Fund for reparation of victims » and also through the development and adoption of the draft law establishing the fundamental principles relating to the protection of victims of sexual violence.
