Launching of the agricultural campaign of the PASA-NK project for the production of rice and coffee in North Kivu


Kinshasa, October 1st, 2022 (CPA).-  The North Kivu Agricultural Sector Support Project (PASA-NK), a structure of the Ministry of Agriculture launched last week in Beni, the agricultural campaign of this project in the basin for the production of rice and coffee, indicates a correspondence from the association of agricultural journalists of Kivu received Friday at the CPA. According to this correspondence, this project supports the agricultural sectors (coffee and rice) with an investment of 53 million US dollars for a period of 9 years, with a view to increasing agricultural production and increasing profitability. This project will allow farmers to access the profitable market and contribute to improving their living conditions.The source also indicates that a delegation made up of the provincial inspectorate of fishing and livestock agriculture, the seed services as well as the Federation of Agricultural Producers’ Organizations of Congo (FOPAC) visited the micro coffee washing stations. of Lume and Rugetsi in the Ruwenzeri sector. As a reminder, PASA-NK is a government project co-financed with the World Bank (WB) and its development partners. It was launched in season A in the Nkundi valley in Kongo-Central.
