Kinshasa, October 13th, 2022 (CPA) – The elected for the 10th constituency of French people living abroad, Amelia Lakrafi, recently met in Kinshasa with the president of FDNT, Denise Nyakeru Tshisekedi, to propose a cooperation project on various aspects, in particular the education of children, particularly that of little girls in the provinces, the French language, domestic violence and the empowerment of women, we learned on Thursday from this structure.
During these exchanges, the two personalities discussed the ways and means that could enable them to combine their efforts to multiply actions in these sectors.
In her speech, Amelia Lakrafi also welcomed the involvement of the president of the foundation that bears her name in repairing the status of victims of sexual violence. « I find what she is doing on recognizing the status of female victims very innovative, which is a huge step », she said.
The cooperation project between FDNT and the 10th constituency of French people living abroad provides for capacity building for teachers in schools in the provinces on the use of energy equipment and tablets, but also to facilitate access for Congolese public schools to a fund a French documentary.
Present during this meeting, the French ambassador in DRC, Bruno Aubert, insisted on the question of transitional justice.
« It is also a concern for us. French diplomacy is following this very closely. It is a strong expectation in society carried by moral authorities. There are French associations and NGOs which follow this question and are interested in DRC, » he said.
