Kinshasa, October 19th, 2022 (CPA) – The National Assembly rejected, on Wednesday, the motion of no confidence issued against the Minister of Transport, means of communication and opening up, Cherubin Okende, for several grievances.
« At the end of the vote after examination, by the deputies, of the form and substance of the motion of no confidence under examination, the National Assembly rejects it », concluded the president of the Lower House of Parliament, Christophe Mboso, before adjourning the plenary session.
The author of the motion had retained several grievances in the head of Minister Okende, including the inability to respect the decisions of the government in his sector through in particular, the non-closure of illegal ports preventing the Commercial Transport and Port Company (SCTP) to regain its monopoly.
He was also criticized for the lack of a timetable in his action plan, the absence of the circulation of Trans-Academia buses and the non-issuance of driving licenses at the base of road harassment.
The file on the acquisition of nine aircraft, to strengthen the airline Congo Airways in favour of which a sum of USD 24,000,000 has been released to the public treasury.
