Tshikapa, November 2nd, 2022 (CPA)-. The African Development Bank (AfDB) has released the sum of USD 814,362,440.10 as funds for the construction of agricultural and related infrastructure in the province of Kasai, notes a press release from the Infrastructure Unit of the Ministry of Infrastructure and public works, a copy of which was received Tuesday at the CPA.
“Several infrastructures, including 10 rural markets, 29 boreholes and 100 developed sources of drinking water, as well as three rural roads, will be built in the province of Kasai Central as part of the Tshikapa-Mbuji-Mayi road development project, on the Tshikapa-Kamuesha section for a duration of work estimated at 54 months”, notes the document.
The Infrastructure Unit of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Works as well as the technical services of the Ministry of Rural Development, in particular the Office of Agricultural Service Roads (OVDA), the National Office of Rural Hydraulics (ONHR) and the National Service of Rural Habitat (SENHARU) carried out a field trip from October 27th to 31st in order to accept the related agricultural and rural civil engineering works as well as the final acceptance of the works built as part of the development of national road no1.
Apart from these infrastructures, these works also concerned the rural market of Katanga and the access ramps to the ferry precisely at the crossing point of the Lova river, on the Shambunda-Kibulungu rural track connected to the RN1.
This mission was sanctioned by the signing of minutes between the Infrastructure Unit, the Chinese company CJIC and the various state public services involved in the realization of these projects in the province of Kasaï. ACP/
