FECOFA suspends six leaders accused of pedophile in Congolese sports circles

Kinshasa, November 7th, 2022 (CPA).– The Congolese Federation of Football Association (FECOFA), has temporarily suspended six sports leaders, among them the coaches and supervisors of young people named in the case of pedophilia in football circles Congolese, reports a decision of this sports body signed by President Donatien Tshimanga, a copy of which reached CPA on Monday.

They are Guy-Roger Limolo coach of AC Rangers, Bertin Kisamba Makuzueto assistant coach of FC Saint Eloi Lupopo and member of the technical staff of the local Leopards, and the youth coaches below: Dongo Epapa Cedric, Alain Kandudi, Buka Jonathan and Tifo Miezi. They are therefore suspended, or better strictly prohibited from taking part in an activity related to the practice of football throughout the country in accordance with the law regulating non-profit associations in DRC, and the statutes of FECOFA.

For the Congolese football umbrella body, the allegations circulating in the public square seriously affect the lives of athletes, and are contrary to the laws and sports ethics. Thus the interested parties are suspended and must make themselves available to the commission of inquiry.

The Minister of Sports pledges his support in this case

The Minister of Sports and Leisure, Serge Nkonde Chembo, reiterated his commitment to the outcome of this affair through investigations in order to establish the guilt of each other during a working session on Monday with FECOFA and the National Football League (LINAFOOT).

The Minister of Sports and Leisure has promised to officially seize the Minister of Justice in writing, so that the latter instructs the Attorney General of the Republic for the opening of a judicial inquiry into this affair, revealed by Romain Molina, writer, journalist and French investigator, highlighting several pieces of evidence.

The people cited as perpetrators of these abuses with athletes in return for any advantage in clubs where these supervisors enjoy more authority in one way or another. ACP/
