Kinshasa, November 11th, 2022(CPA).- The Local Development Program of 145 territories is in line with the SDGs (PDL 145 T) initiated by the President of the Republic Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo with the call of the United Nations (UN), aiming at integrating the Sustainable Development Goals in the projects for the benefit of the populations of the member countries by 2030, learned CPA on Friday from the Ministry in charge of Planning. « The Development Program of 145 territories is a gas pedal program in the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. This program targets populations at the local level by touching six (6) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including health, education, water, infrastructure as well as the construction of administrative buildings, » said Modeste Kakanda Coordinator of the Congolese Observatory for Sustainable Development (OCDD).
The source notes that it is within this framework that the Minister of State Christian Mwando convened and chaired on Thursday in Kinshasa a working session between the Congolese Observatory of Sustainable Development (OCDD) and the three (3) agencies implementing the said program, namely CFEF, UNDP and BCECO.
During this session at the Ministry of Planning, the coordinator of the OCDD presented the project for the collection of data that will make it possible to analyse the acceleration of « the objectives of sustainable development through the execution of the LDP of the 145 territories ».
For Modeste Kakanda, it is thus important to analyse the impact of this program on the SDGs especially since the country through the President of the Republic Felix-Antoine Tshisekedi is called to present in September 2023 its national review report on the SDGs, which must be based on the Local Development Program of the 145 Territories
To conclude, the Minister of State in charge of Planning invited on this occasion the two parties, namely the OCDD and the three (3) implementing agencies of the Local Development Program of the 145 territories to work in synergy in order to better collect data on the ground.
The Local Development Program of the 145 territories (PDL 145 T) is a concrete realization of one of the promises of the Head of State to the population, consisting of initiating the development of Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) from the bottom up, which is a winning bet for the Sama Lukonde government.
This project provides for actions in four sectors of activity, namely water and electricity, health, education and agricultural feeder roads. It was officially launched on Saturday, October 30th, 2021, by Prime Minister Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, at the head of a large delegation of government members, national deputies and senators of Central Kongo, in Kimpese, 217 km from Kinshasa the capital, in the territory of Songololo. The program is coordinated by the Minister of State Christian Mwando. ACP/
