Decoration of the main arteries of Kinshasa as a prelude to the festivities

Kinshasa, December 19th, 2022 (CPA).- The technical service of Kinshasa City Hall continues to decorate the main arteries of the city, in particular the Place de la Gare centrale, Boulevard Lumumba and By pass, as a prelude to the Christmas festivities and New Year 2023.

“The decorative light in these main roads starts at 6:30 p.m. until dawn,” he said.

According to Mr. Shora Shongimingi, photographer, practicing his profession at the central station, “these decorations embellish this place, and attract the curiosity of the population who come to visit this tourist place. She also enjoys being photographed.

He also deplored the fact that there is not enough enthusiasm as in previous years due to the lack of regular maintenance of this highly symbolic place. “There are not enough people like the past years. This lack of enthusiasm is linked to the lack of functioning of the water fountains. We ask the provincial government to follow up on these stands to keep them in good condition and to increase their efforts for the safety of this tourist place, which is a revenue-generating site, since we pay our royalties”, a- he asserted.

Mr. Shongimingi also called on the provincial government to rehabilitate some water fountains that are not working.

For his part, Mr. John Makwiza, living in the commune of Selembao, who came to explore these stands, pleaded with the provincial authorities for the establishment of similar decorative sites, in each commune of the city of Kinshasa in order to spare the population to move and celebrate everyone in their respective commune.

It should be noted that another decorative site is also erected at 15th Street, an industrial district in the municipality of Limete.
