Kinshasa, December 29th, 2022 (CPA).- A network of spies in the service of Rwanda, dismantled in Kinshasa, capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), was preparing a Machiavellian plan to destabilize the country, said Tuesday, the vice -Minister of the Interior, Jean-Claude Molipe, during a briefing organized on national television.

« The acquisition, by these spies, of an important land heritage in the perimeter of the international airport of N’djili and the military base of Kibomango gave a glimpse of the preparation of a Machiavellian plan similar to that which was the basis of the assassination of Juvénal Habyarimana and his Burundian counterpart », he pointed out the Deputy Minister, assisted by the Minister of Communication as well as the Spokespersons of the FARDC and the Police.

« Two Rwandan spies, one of whom is an element of the Rwanda Defense Force (RDF), acting under the cover of a development NGO called « African Health Development Organization » (AHDO), fell into the net of the Congolese security services , with two of their accomplices,” said the deputy minister.

« The decrypted telephone of the Rwandan soldier, after exploitation by the investigators, revealed that the latter had access to the various strategic sites of the capital, and this, in complicity with certain general and senior officers of the FARDC », he said. added, affirming that other spies are wanted, « especially since the aforementioned NGO had opened branches in the province of Kwango, Kwilu, Kasai, North Kivu and South Kivu ».

« The Security Services of the Democratic Republic of Congo reassure the population that they are hard at work to dismantle this network of criminals and put out of harm’s way all accomplices, both civilian and military », concluded Deputy Minister Molipe, before revealing, via the FARDC Spokesman, General Sylvain Ekenge, the identity of the spies apprehended.

« These spies not only infiltrated a few FARDC officers, but also prominent political figures, as well as economic operators and members of civil society, » said army spokesman Sylvain Ekenge.

Referring to their identity, the general said that they are Juvenal Biseruka (born in 1964, Rwandan), Moses Mushabe (33 years old, Rwandan), Remy Sengiyumva (42 years old, presumed Congolese) and Colonel Mugisha (42 years, Congolese soldier). They are all prosecuted for espionage, breach of trust, incitement of the military and corruption, concluded General Ekenge.
