Demolition of anarchic constructions in Kinshasa: the turn of Kitambo Magasin on Friday

Kinshasa, January 12th, 2023 (CPA).- The « punch » operation launched last Monday in the town of Masina (Tshangu), as part of the sanitation of the city of Kinshasa will continue on Friday January 13 at the Place Kintambo-magasin and its surroundings, announced in a statement by the governor of the city of Kinshasa, Gentiny Ngobila Mbaka.

« The said operation will consist of the eradication of pirate markets, the removal of wreckage of vehicles and poorly parked vehicles, the destruction of kiosks and makeshift terraces, pirate garages and the arrest of sellers of water packaged in sachets commonly called pure water”, specifies the said press release bearing the signature of the number one of the capital.

To this end, the urban authority strictly prohibits all merchants from displaying their articles on public rights-of-way, sidewalks and other spaces not indicated, as well as on pirate displays located on the aforementioned places and its surroundings.

Three days ago, it is recalled, this operation launched at the pirate market called Indou, in Masina continued along Lumumba Boulevard up to the height of the 1st street in the commune of Limete, passing through the communes of Matete, N’djili and that of Lemba.
