Games of La Francophonie: determination to deliver the infrastructure on the set date

Kinshasa, January 19th, 2023 (CPA).-  The progress of the construction and rehabilitation works of the infrastructures of the IX Games of La Francophonie which will be organized in the Democratic Republic of Congo, was examined, Tuesday at the Primature, in view of their delivery on the fixed date, the CPA of this institution learned on Wednesday.

  during a technical meeting held by Prime Minister Sama Lukonde.

“We had a meeting with the Prime Minister on the situation of the construction and rehabilitation works of the infrastructures which will house the IX Games of La Francophonie, in order to see what has been done, what needs to be done, what remains to be done so that the infrastructures are delivered on the fixed date”, declared the Minister of Regional Integration and La Francophonie, Didier Mazenga, at the end of the working session.

“We have received guidance, instructions from the Prime Minister. We are going to continue meetings, especially tomorrow afternoon, so that we are ready, given the time we have left, to organize the 9th Francophonie Games scheduled for July and August 2023,” he continued.

Didier Mazenga also indicated that « as soon as the government’s share is finished, the contractors will also have theirs, to give the timetable for the work that the Executive will follow so that, at the latest in May, the infrastructures be delivered to the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) ».

“It is not only a question of us members of the Government or of the steering committee. The responsibility also rests with you, you journalists as well as the population, to be able to accompany this beneficial event for the country », said the Minister of Regional Integration, as if to request the support of the population and the press for the success of these games which are of major importance for the Republic.

This meeting was attended in particular by the Minister of State in charge of Infrastructure, the Minister of State in charge of the Budget, represented by the Deputy Minister of Finance, the Minister for Regional Integration, the personal representative of the Chief of the State, the General Delegate for the Francophonie, the National Director of the Games of the Francophonie as well as some members of the Prime Minister’s Office.
