Kongo Central: women from the provincial Ministry of agriculture made aware of digital technology

Matadi, March 16th, 2023 (CPA).- The women of the provincial Ministry in charge of agriculture, rural development, fisheries and livestock of Kongo Central have been sensitized to the integration of digital in the development process, on Wednesday during a meeting on the side-lines of the Women’s Day.

« The choice of this theme is justified by the fact that digital integration is essential in the development process of the country and poverty reduction. It enables the achievement of most of the targets of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Thus, it is important for DRC to reduce the digital divide, which is a real obstacle to development, » said Ms Jolie Niankunu of this provincial Ministry.

The women from the provincial Ministry in charge of agriculture, rural development, fisheries and livestock pleaded for capacity building and retraining in the digital field by providing them with teaching materials, including computers, to improve their performance and remedy the shortcomings noted.

They paid tribute to the President of the Republic, Félix Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo, for his peace efforts in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The meeting was organised under the theme « egalitarian digital education for peace and the empowerment of women and girls in DRC« . CPA /
